On last 25/4/2020, QIS Non-Destructive Testing Service Co., Ltd. held “Radiation Emergency Dummy Run” at Long Son project site.

This dummy run is carried out to ensure that if in case of radiation accident happens, the radiation rescue team can respond skillfully in any case of accident. And it ensures that co-operation between Argus, Huydai E&C, LSP are well in case of emergency.

With scenario: The pig tail with source is disconnected from driven cable and remain in guide tube.

When radiation rescue team were available at site, RT leader informed the actually happening situation to rescue team. After conference with RT team, all interpreted that may be the connection of driven cable wasn’t be checked, so the pig tail with source was disconnected from driven cable and remain in guide tube and couldn’t recover in projector.

RT leader checked dose rate at safety barrier to ensure the dose rate is 7.5 µSV/h or less, he requested crew to use loudspeaker & whistle to stop unauthorized person going in the cordon area.

Short meeting with HEC’s representative to report the situation of emergency and rescue plan

Rescue team discussed and planed carefully, checked the conditions of materials and tools for rescue prior execute the actions to recover the source into projector.

Mission complete, all team returned to the first gathering place.
