Alongside the benefits derived from the application of radiation and radioactive isotopes, there are inherent risks to human health, the environment, and society if not managed, monitored closely, and with appropriate preventive and response measures. On March 23, 2024, Q.I.S participated in a radiation emergency response drill at the PVMS Fabrication Yard – Pannel workshop (Workshop 01 area). The drill scenario involved a simulated incident: The guide tube is damaged due to falling object and the radiation source cannot be retracted to projector. This activity underscored the brand value and professionalism of Q.I.S in the presence of numerous partners and clients.
The organization of radiation emergency response drills should be conducted at least once a year at facilities or within project lifecycles. This is to assess the emergency response team's skills regarding radiation incidents, thereby enhancing preparedness for emergencies or accidents.
