CHW2204 PROJECT - THE FIRST PROJECT TO FEATURE VIETNAM'S NAME ON THE WORLD OFFSHORE RENEWABLE ENERGY MAP.
On the morning of June 23, 2023, at the construction site of Sao Mai - Ben Dinh Petroleum Investment Joint Stock Company, the main contractor PTSC and the investor Orsted, along with subcontractors including the representative of QIS Non-Destructive Testing Services LLC, solemnly organized and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the fabrication of Suction Buckets under the Contract for the fabrication and supply of foundations for the Greater Changhua 2b & 4 Offshore Wind Farm Project. This is the first time Vietnam has secured a significant export contract in the emerging field of offshore renewable energy.
QIS utilized its available resources and expertise to perform the NDT portion for the Suction Buckets. With a team of 20 personnel at Level 2 or above, we provided methods such as MT, UT, and took responsibility for the structural aspect. Everything has been set up and prepared to commence the implementation.
Representing PTSC, Mr. Le Manh Cuong - CEO of PTSC, emphasized the company's commitment to developing a supply chain to contribute to the development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province as a supply center for offshore renewable energy not only in Vietnam but also in the Asia-Pacific region.
The project also contributes to the realization of the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030 and vision to 2050 (Power Plan 8 ), which was approved by the Government on May 15, 2023. Specifically, it contributes to the establishment of an Offshore Renewable Energy Industrial Center in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and the Southeast region, creating a complete offshore renewable energy industry ecosystem with the participation of domestic enterprises, enhancing domestic design and fabrication capabilities, increasing localization rates, and actively implementing future offshore renewable energy projects in Vietnam to ensure national energy security, defense security, and sovereignty over the seas and islands.
